Investment thesis

Positioning experts on the cap table.

Most investors who promise to roll up their sleeves bring sales, hiring, and pricing, and list brand somewhere near the bottom of the page. We are the other way round. Brand and positioning is the entire practice. G—W1 is our own fund, and it invests in companies we believe should own their category. When we invest, the people who put the money in are the people building the brand.

What we believe

The last bullet on their list is the only thing on ours.

Operational investors treat brand as a supporting act. We have spent seven years watching it decide who wins the category. So we made it the whole job, and we put our own capital behind it.

Skin in the game beats a day rate.

When we own a piece of the company, we design like owners. It changes which questions we ask, what we push back on, and how long we stay interested after the launch.

Positioning is a growth decision, not a marketing one.

The companies that pull away look and behave like the category leader before they are one. That is a choice made early, and it is expensive to make late.

We are the partner funds bring in, not the one they bid against.

Venture firms bring capital and boards. We bring the brand and product foundations that turn a round into traction. We co-invest alongside them, and we take their introductions seriously.

Who we partner with

A product the market has already voted for.

Paying customers, repeat customers, a sales motion that is starting to work. We do not invest in ideas.

A category that is forming or contested.

The best returns on positioning come when nobody owns the space yet, or when the incumbent has gone quiet.

Founders who want the brand built by people with a stake in it.

Not a vendor, not a board seat. Designers who own a piece of the outcome.

What you get, beyond the check

Brand foundations

Positioning, identity, and the structures a company stands on as it scales.

Product design

So what you promise and what people experience feel like the same company.

Website and launch

Built for the next stage, not the last one.

Naming and architecture

For new products, tiers, and markets.

Fundraising materials

Decks and narratives that match the brand investors will see everywhere else.

Brand operations

Tools and guidelines built around how your team actually works, so it lives on after us.

Where we have put our own money

Twenty positions since 2019. Companies, funds, and the occasional lesson.

  • 2026Builderbase, 528Hz Ventures
  • 2025Qlerify
  • 2024Nordic Angels, Noll Bikes, Zetta Venture Partners, DREV, Luminar Ventures, Inception Fund

  • 2021Green Assets Wallet†, Wilgot, Truecaller (IPO)
  • 2020Coupleness†
  • 2019Filestar (acquired)

† No longer operating. We list them because the record is the record.

Who we want to hear from

Founders past first revenue whose brand has not kept up.

The product moved faster than the story. You know it, your team knows it, and your last investor mentioned it.

Companies entering a category with an obvious incumbent.

You are better and nobody can tell. Positioning is the fastest way to change that.

Funds who want a brand partner with skin in the game.

You bring the round. We bring the foundations and co-invest alongside you.

How we invest

  • FundG—W1, capitalised by the studio
  • StageSeed to Series A
  • OwnershipMinority stake
  • StructureEquity for work or cash
  • RoleBrand, positioning and product design partner throughout
  • Follow-onCase by case
  • HorizonEvergreen

The check is a commitment, not the deliverable. The deliverable is a brand looking like the leader before the numbers say so.

Where we come in

Before us.

The product works. Revenue is real. The brand was made in a weekend two years ago, the website says something different from the deck, and every new hire draws it slightly differently. The offering has outrun the design.

With us.

G—W1 invests, and the studio goes to work on the foundations: positioning, identity, product, website, and the tools your team needs to keep it coherent without us. One team, one cap table.

After us.

The next round, the international launch, the enterprise motion. The brand holds because it was built for this stage rather than the last one.

Talk to us about your next round.
