Designed by Nisse and Kajsa Strinning in 1949, the String® shelf is a renowned design icon. Today the company builds on the legacy with the same timeless vision and scandinavian design tradition that defines the String brand. G—W was invited to create a new digital platform that would support the growing catalog of new products along with inspiration to showcase exciting world of String®.
The String® system together with many product lines is highly flexible and offers a wide range of combinations, materials and colors. The design system allows for shopping directly from inspirational images aswell as customizing and building your own combination through the planner tool.
Discover new possibilities from inspiration or shop directly through pre-designed combinations available. Every piece, shelf or spare part is indexed and easy to find thanks to the powerful navigation and filtering options.
The new digital platform invites you to explore the world of String® through scenes and stories where inspiration and creativity is constantly at the front and center.
To support the rich pieces of content and stories produced by String Furniture – the design system offers high flexibility through rich typographic layouts providing clear structure throughout the content templates, making all content production fast and efficient while preserving a dynamic look and feel.
The products of String Furniture is widely used by professionals all over the world. To support their needs, we created a section where visitors can learn about the products, browse the rich image galleries, along with color swatches and materials, 3D-renders and inspirational content to make the planning of your project easy.
My String allows you to save all inspiration and customized builds. Once in the basket users have a great overview of every piece included in the desired combination. Added products outside of a combination will be highlighted to avoid returns due to purchasing products in the wrong dimensions.
The design system is inspired by the structural design of the String® shelves, indexing the precious things of our lives.
